Sandy was born and raised in Victoria attending George Jay Elementary, Royal Oak Jr. Secondary and Claremont Secondary Schools. She is a graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast Journalism program and went on to spend 34 years at CJFC News in Kamloops as a TV and radio reporter, Assignment Editor and Assistant News Director. Sandy is proud to have earned numerous broadcast journalism awards during her time in Kamloops. Now, you can hear her as a reporter and news anchor at C-FAX 1070 in her old home town.
Sandy likes to be involved in her community and has past volunteer experience with Crimestoppers, the SPCA, Aids Society of Kamloops, D.A.R.E. as well as being heavily involved in the Radio Television Digital News Association. She has twice served as the RTDNA’s Television Director for BC, and one term as the Radio Director for BC. Sandy also served 4 years on the National Editorial Board for the Canadian Press.
