A group supporting homeless campers staged a protest at the Coquitlam office of BC's Housing Minister this (Wed) afternoon.
Yelling "Housing not cops," more than a dozen members of "Alliance Against Displacement" stormed Selina Robinson's office to relay their anger at the massive show of police force that was used to break up the Ravine Park encampment in Saanich yesterday (Tues).
The protesters posted video of their protest to their Facebook site. This is some of the protester's speech:
" The NDP chose to escalate the level of police repression that homeless people face every day in Saanich and beyond. Despite their attempt to paint themselves as a progressive alternative to the Liberals the NDP's approach to the crisis of homelessness has been more brutal."
The protesters left Robinson's office after police were called, and they were threatened with arrest.
