BC Premier John Horgan has joined those paying tribute to Canadian musician Gord Downie, who passed away after a battle with brain cancer.
"He is an iconic figure in Canadian music. My son's a musician, he plays Hip music all the time. A good friend of mine was the base player in "Gord Downie and the Country of Miracles" which was the second greatest Canadian band ever, after the Tragically Hip."
Horgan says Downie lived an extraordinary life, and left us with an amazing library of music to sustain us.
" It's a great loss for Canadian music. But what an extraordinary life that was lived by an extraordinary Canadian. I think all of us will remember him in our own way. And the good news is we have a library of outstanding music to sustain us throughout time."
