As the BC election approaches the B.C. Teachers Federation is launching ads reminding parents of the union's long-fought battle to force the Liberals to return class size and composition to the bargaining table.
BCTF President Glen Hansman says a whole generation of students went through a system that was lacking, and missed out on services they should have had. Hansman says parents shouldn't forget what we've been through since 2002, adding the improvements to working and classroom conditions that will be there in the fall is because the court ordered the government to restore them.
Hansman adds there are still many other issues to be addressed -- including school construction, seismic upgrading, support for curriculum, and getting wait lists down -- and British Columbians need to ask themselves who they want overseeing that.
The 30 second ad debuted Monday.
