The purrfect opportunity to adopt a cat is now. The BC SPCA is offering 50 per cent off adoption fees for adult cats from now until Aug. 31! The event includes all BC SPCA locations across the province except for those closed due to wildfire evacuations.
Due to the evacuations and fire threats, the SPCA has transferred 127 animals out of our northern shelters to other SPCA locations, including 75 kittens and 34 cats. Lorie Chortyk, BC SPCA's general manager of community relations says "Many shelters are at capacity and we'd love to find these wonderful cats a loving home as soon as possible." Chortyk continues, "Our adult cats have so much love and personality to offer, having developed their temperaments at this point in their lives. This makes it easier to match them up with a potential guardian."
Meows the time to adopt a cat if you, and your family have been thinking about it.
