Thousands of people across BC began the New Year by plunging into a freezing body of water.
In Sidney, more than 300 people braved the chilly temperatures and freezing water for the annual Polar Bear swim. Organizer Cam McLennan, tells CTV Vancouver Island its the largest turn out to date.
Polar Bear swims were held in multiple B.C. communities Sunday including a polar bear swim in Sooke raising funds for Scout Canada's Camp Bernard.
