A cyclist in Oak Bay was knocked off her bike by an aggressive buck last week.
The woman was riding her bike along Bowker Avenue last Wednesday (Nov 21), and was coming around the corner onto St. Ann Street when she rounded the corner and encountered three deer -- a buck, doe and a fawn.
The buck charged the cyclist, knocking her down.
Witnesses rushed to her aid. Swas taken to hospital for observation. Police say she suffered an injury to her shoulder and a mild concussion.
BC Conservation officials were notified.
It's not the first time an overly-protective deer has caused injury to someone in Oak Bay. In September a woman was stomped by four deer she was trying to let out of her backyard.
