A Central Saanich Police officer will run a mammoth 50 miles (80.5kms) on Saturday to raise money for at-risk-youth.
Cpl. Pat Bryant is a 31 year veteran of the force, and has spent more than 3 years seconded to the Mobile Youth Support team (MYST) and has served as a school liaison officer.
Colleague, Cnst. Jessica Craig, says Bryant's run will support the Sanctuary Youth Centre, which provides a safe place, food, and activities for street entrenched and at-risk youth ages 14 and 22.
"He is an avid runner, but 50 miles is a feat for anyone. And, yeah, that's this Saturday, December 19th. And any funds that he is able to raise by bringing awareness to the Sanctuary Youth Centre, they will then be able to use those funds to provide hot meals, snacks and groceries to local youth. "
Bryant's route will take him around the Saanich Peninsula.
Sanctuary Youth Centre is located in the basement oif Church of Our Lord in the 700-block of Humboldt.
