Yesterday's BC government announcement touting an increase in new childcare spaces may not be enough, say some provincial childcare advocates.
Families in 52 communities throughout BC will benefit from 103 projects that will create more than 3,800 child-care spaces.
However, Sharon Gregson with the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC is hoping for more news about childcare coming from BC's February budget.
"We'll be hoping that future announcements will make public dollars create public assets so publically-funded child care will be in the not-for-profit, or operated by the public sector."
Child Care advocates feel $10 dollar-a-day child care plan is the solution to BC's child care crisis
