Kelly Ellard, a convicted killer will be getting a taste of freedom after she was granted temporary escorted absences from Abbotsford prison at a parole board hearing Monday.
It's the second time in a month that the 34-year-old Ellard made the request.
She recently gave birth while serving her second-degree murder sentence in the 1997 death of Reena Virk.
Ellard will now be able to have supervised visits in the community with her newborn four times per month for 90 days.
She was seeking escorted absences to attend medical appointments and parenting programs with the baby.
