CFAX1070 News wishes to correct a mistake made in the original version of this story. The deadline for public engagement is not nearing an end for the Southern Island Transportation Strategy. The looming deadline is for the Active Transportation Strategy engagement period.
The strategy, part of the CleanBC plan, is looking for input on making options for clean modes of transportation -- like cycling or walking -- more convenient and affordable, and suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
The online engagement process was launched 2 months ago, and Transportation Minister Claire Trevena says the deadline is April 15th at 4pm, and she hopes anyone who wishes to participate does so.
" I hope that everybody had gone onto our website to engage. There is 1 week left to get onto the website and say what your priorities are for active transportation, helping us shape the province, the way the province develops active transportation for year to come."
Active Transportation is aimed at using CleanBC investments to make communities more livable and affordable while reducing the carbon footprint.
All feedback received will help form the final approach, which will be made available to the public.
