As of today, Monday November 16, Costco is clamping down on those not wearing masks or face shields into their stores.
An advisory on their website says children under 2 will be exempt.
Costco has had a face mask policy in effect since May 4th, but members who could not wear a mask due to a medical condition were exempt.
But that will no longer be the case. If someone can't wear a mask due to a medical condition they must now wear a face shield at Costco.
Craig Jelinek, President and CEO, says the updated policy may seem inconvenient to some, but they believe the added safety is worth any inconvenience.
He adds the goal is to provide a safe shopping environment for members and guests, and to provide a safe work environment for employees.
