The effort to get interval speed cameras on the Malahat has taken another step forward.
The Cowichan Valley Regional District recently voted in favour of a proposal to work with the Capital Regional District to jointly lobby the province.
The interval cameras take photos of a vehicle at different points along a route and calculate the time it took that vehicle to travel between the points. Anyone caught travelling the distance in less time than allowed gets mailed a ticket.
The CRD now expects to send a join letter to the province as early as this week.
