Victoria Police are releasing more information about a single vehicle crash last night at a Petro Canada gas station.
Emergency crews were called to the service station on the corner of Fairfield and St Charles Thursday evening.
A car slammed into the gas pumps around 6:30 p.m.
Police say the man suffered a medical event while driving. His passenger was able to slow the vehicle by reaching over and activating the emergency brake. The driver was transported to hospital.
While the vehicle and the gas pump suffered significant damage, there was no fire due to the quick actions of gas station staff and the Victoria Fire Department.
There is no immediate word on the man's condition.
