A former teacher at Victoria High School has been permanently banned from teaching in BC.
In 2013, Francesco Gabriel Canacari was convicted of harassment and being in a dwelling house unlawfully. The trial heard he harassed two women he had formerly dated with repeated calls, texts, and e-mails, and that he illegally entered their homes and took underwear, which were later found in Canacari's home.
The former teacher was also found to have prompted one of his students to send a text message to one of the women he was harassing; he then instructed the student to erase the number and messages off her cell phone.
In an unrelated case in 2015, Canacari pleaded guilty to three forgery related offences.
In a consent resolution agreement released by the BC Commissioner for Teacher Regulation, Canacari admits his actions amount to misconduct and conduct unbecoming a teacher, and agrees he will never again apply for a teaching certificate in this province.
