After six months in hospital undergoing numerous surgeries, a Saanich girl is back home.

On December 20th of last year, Leila Bui was struck by an SUV at a crosswalk on her way to school.  She was put into an induced coma and suffered severe brain damage.

Leila has the support of family and friends, and a family member on a GoFundMe page says the girl is super strong and determined.

Family members say they are extremely grateful for everyone who donated to the campaign, raising more than $15,000 which was used to buy an accessible van, cover lost wages and renovate a bathroom to meet Leila's needs.
