Victoria’s Michael Langridge has captured the gold medal in the Alpine Skiing Novice Super G event at the Special Olympics World Winter Games taking place in Austria until March 25th.
Langridge finished the race in 25.11 seconds, more than three seconds faster than silver medalist Codrut C Moldoveanu of Romania.
Langridge’s Club Fit Coach Anne – Marie Sutherland calls it an amazing achievement:“He continues to demonstrate his determination and love for the sport which shines through in training and in competition. Winning a gold medal at the World Games will be a memory he and his family will always cherish. I wish him and all the athletes the best of luck at their next event, Giant Slalom. Go Mike! We are all rooting for you!”
Langridge will compete in the Giant Slalom Monday and the finals on Tuesday, March 21st.
