A recall has been issued for an herbal tea because of potential contamination with Salmonella.
The recall affects one lot of Traditional Medicinals "Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea" tea which is promoted as relieving symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections.
A salmonella bacteria infection can pose serious health risks, particularly for young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weak immune systems.
The recalled product is sold at stores across Canada and online.
The affected lot is #19, and has an expiry date of February 2021.
Health Canada recommends anyone who has the product NOT to consume it, and to consult with a health care professional if you have used the product and have health concerns.
