Those living in apartments in a James Bay complex are spending the next two weeks living in a downtown hotel.
They've been relocated by the property management company after asbestos was found during building renovations.
One of the displaced tenants of Charter House on Michigan Street, Sean Clazie tells CFAX, tests for asbestos and other potentially harmful metals were conducted, but not shared with the tenants.
"None of us tenants know the results of the tests, where the levels of elevation were with regards to asbestos or anything else, whether it's lead or silica, which is also a byproduct of the remediation process."
Clazie says stop work orders were issued by WorkSafeBC for the safety of workers doing the renovations, but VIHA has not disclosed its test results to WorkSafeBC or the tenants.
