The Langford man convicted in an impaired driving crash that killed West Shore RCMP Cnst. Sarah Beckett in April 2016 has now pleaded guilty to another crash that caused injuries just over a month later.
In a Duncan court Monday morning Kenneth Jacob Fenton pleaded guilty to causing an accident resulting in bodily harm to his girlfriend, as well as fleeing from police.
On May 22, 2016, officers caught up with a fleeing pick up truck that had rolled with 2 perople inside on Goldstream Heights Drive. Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash happened 7 weeks after the collision in which Fenton barrelled into the police cruiser driven by of Const. Sarah Beckett. He had been drinking heavily and was speeding when he ran a red light at an intersection striking the cruiser.
Last July he was sentenced to 4 years in that crash, and could qualify for full parole in November.
Fenton's sentencing death has been set for July 3rd in Duncan Provincial Court. Fenton is also being sued by the woman who was in the truck with him during the May 2016 crash..
