Police are recommending charges against a 31-year-old man who was caught trying to leave the scene of a collision on Tyee Road in Victoria on Saturday night.
Authorities say at 6:40 p.m. they attended a motor vehicle incident at Tyee and Wilson where a vehicle reportedly lost control, slamming into a parked car.
“The vehicle was even said to be travelling on two wheels at one point, that’s how fast the rate of speed was,” said Cst. Ralph Weber. “Then it crashed into a vehicle.”
Weber says a group of passersby’s stopped the driver who was then taken into custody.
Police are recommending eight charges, including driving while impaired, breaking probation, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused is scheduled to attend a telebail hearing on Saturday.
