Investigators have released the identity of a man who was found dead inside a burnt out vehicle near Port Renfrew.
Sooke RCMP were called to the Pacheedaht First Nation the morning of December 27 after someone saw a burnt 2004 Pontiac Grand Am with what they believed to be human remains inside. The death was deemed suspicious and major crime detectives became involved in the investigation.
The RCMP have now identified the deceased man as 49-year old Bruce Edward Carlson.
Police say their investigation continues and foul play has not been ruled out. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sooke RCMP.
