A man was pulled from the waters off Macaulay Point Friday morning after his small boat flipped capsized.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre got a call about 8:15 a.m.about an 18 foot boat with one on board flipped overĀ in the water.
Spokesperson, Navy LT. Melissa Kia says a nearby vessel was able to rescue a man from the water just after JRCC got the report.
"A Victoria Harbour patrol boat arrived on the scene 5 minutes after the initial notification came into JRCC, along with Canadian Coast Guard 501. And both of those 2 craft stood by until a commercial assistance vessel could arrive on the scene and take salvage of the vessel."
Conditions on the water were calm at the time. So far there is no indication how the boat flipped.
