A man wanted in connection with 2 incidents involving a handgun at a Saanich shopping centre this week has been arrested up island.
Comox Valley RCMP took 37 year old Michael Godolphin into custody without incident at 2:30 Thursday afternoon in Courtenay.
He was wanted in connection to a robbery at the London Drugs at Quadra and McKenzie Tuesday afternoon in which a man pointed a handgun at a loss prevention officer outside the store. He then fled, and stole an electric bike from a cyclist on Lochside trail.
Police were able to quickly identify Godolphin using surveillance video. He is due to appear in court Friday on a number of criminal code offence allegations stemming from the Saanich robberies.
