A man who caused a three-hour police standoff in Langford has been sentenced to a jail term of fifteen months.

In early September, West Shore RCMP responded to Langford Parkway for reports of an agitated person. Police found a man wielding a pistol and heard at least two shots being fired.

Crisis Negotiators were then called in, and 36-year old Michael Godolphin was arrested without incident.

Godolphin has now pleaded guilty to possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a controlled substance. After accounting for time served, he has eleven months left on his sentence.

Godolphin was also ordered to forfeit his starter pistol, a firearm incapable of shooting real ammunition.
