Sooke RCMP had to deal with a man causing a disturbance over the long weekend in the Pacheedaht Campground. The man was reported wielding a hammer and making random threats to other campers he encountered.
Sooke RCMP members stationed in Port Renfrew for the weekend responded where they encountered and arrested the highly aggressive male, who made menacing comments to "murder arresting officers". RCMP seized a hammer and knife and transported the man to Sooke Detachment cells where he was held.
A 44 year old man, of no fixed address, faces charges of uttering threats and mischief related to damage done to RCMP cells while in custody.
Alcohol and hallucinogenic drugs are considered the main contributing factor to the man's bizarre behaviour.
He was released on an Undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to make his first court appearance July 21st.
