A rally at the legislature Saturday is meant to show solidarity with the "March for Our Lives" movement in the United States.
Hundreds of demonstrations are planned throughout the US and around the world to call for stronger gun control legislation in the US. They're in the wake of several mass school shootings.
The Victoria event is being put on by a group called "Youth Political Commons" made up of high school students.
"This is a rally in solidarity with the American efforts. As Canadians we should recognize our ties with America. This issue does affect us," says organizer Magritte Gordaneer. "I'm hoping to see a lot of high school students as well as university students."
The Victoria event is from 1pm to 2pm on the grounds of the BC Legislature.
