Yesterday at 5:40 pm the West Shore RCMP received a call from BC Ambulance Services about an adult male that had been stabbed.
The victim was identified as a 58 year old male who was located in his vehicle in a parking lot near of Corona Foods on Sooke Road in Colwood. He suffered from wounds to his head, face, abdomen, and hands but was conscious and alert. He is still receiving treatment at the hospital and is in stable condition.
Police quickly learned that the assault took place at a different location at a work site in the West Shore area, after which the victim and a witness departed the scene and stopped at Sooke Road to call for help.
A suspect was identified within minutes of the call being made to police and was arrested last evening for aggravated assault, a 34 year old male known to the victim. The suspect is still in police custody awaiting appearance in court this afternoon.
