RCMP up island are asking for the public's help locating a suspect in a road rage incident -- that escalated to assault.
Police report a car was sideswiped by a truck towing a trailer on the Old Island Highway in Lantzville around 4:30 Monday afternoon.
The drivers of both vehicles pulled over. The truck driver wore a balaclava and carried a bat as he approached the car.
He smashed the driver's side window, injuring the person inside. He then got back into his truck and left the scene, heading northbound.
The truck is described as a 2002 to 2005 Dodge 2500 or 3500. It's grey with black fenders, full size with a crew cab and short box.
It was towing a 10 foot, single axle, flat deck trailer.
Anyone with information about the truck, driver, or incident, is asked to call Oceanside RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
