If you are hoping to see a gigantic Russian Cargo plane take off from Victoria International airport you'll need to be up early Thursday morning.
The latest word is the plane is expected to leave at 7:00 a.m. with a dismantled firefighting helicopter on board.
The 1967-era Soviet lyushin I-L-76, is a 4-engine multi-purpose heavy transport aircraft over 46 metres long -- or over 152 feet.
It was hired by the Chilean government to get chopper, as well as mechanics who can put it back together, to the South American country to aid in wildfire suppression efforts.
The airplane was hired to replace an American plane cancelled due to the continued U.S. government shutdown.
It is expected the helicopter -- which is also Russian-built -- is owned by Vancouver Island Helicopters, which has provided choppers to other country's in the past -- including Peru, Brazil, Guyana, Cameroon and China.
