Saanich Police are investigating a disturbing case of voyeurism at Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park.
A woman was using the outhouse-style washroom at the south end of the parking lot Tuesday morning when she noticed a light coming from within the toilet. She also noticed a GoPro camera, attached to a selfie stick coming from the washroom stall that backed into hers. She screamed, which alerted two other woman waiting outside the washroom. A suspect was seen fleeing the stall and heading west on a trail towards Beaver Lake Rd.
Patrol officers attended and attempted to locate the suspect using the Canine Unit, but were unsuccessful. However, potential evidence was collected from the scene.
The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20’s to early 30’s, 5’10” tall with an athletic build. He has short dark brown hair and looked clean cut with a possible beard. The suspect was wearing a green T-shirt, darker coloured shorts and running shoes.
