An 11 year old girl continues to fight for her life in a Victoria Hospital after she was struck by a car in Saanich Wednesday morning.
Lala Bui sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital after she was hit by an SUV and then slid onto the pavement and collided with another car at Ash and Torquay.
It's been a particularly hard week for those who know and work with the little girl.
Piet Langstraat, Greater Victoria School Superintendent says his heart sank when he first heard Lala had been injured in the crash and the district immediately put support systems in place.
"So we have what we call our critical incident response team, which is made up of counsellors and other professionals and we deployed them right away to Arbutus Middle School as well as putting supports in place for students and staff at Torquay and Gordon Head."
Langstraat says the girl has siblings and friends at other schools in the area.
Saanich Police are investigating Wednesday's incident and say it is too early to comment on whether any charges will be laid.
