If you are in or around the Victoria International Airport Friday morning there will be a noticeable presence of emergency personnel.
Don't worry, it's just an exercise.
The Victoria Airport Authority confirms there will be several simulated components incorporated into the scenario to ensure minimal disruption to operations. The operations will be performed between 9 a.m. and noon.
James Bogusz, is Vice-President Operations & Development.
"When folks to get their flight or pick up a family member, they're going to see a pretty decent size contingent of emergency vehicles, including local RCMP, there's going to be a canine unit onsite and we just don't want people to be alarmed."
Two locations, one in Departures Check-in and one in the Arrivals Rotunda will be cordoned off and signage indicating an exercise is in progress will be posted throughout the terminal building and along the front curb.
Information that an exercise is underway will also be posted to the airport's social media channels.
