Shell stations on the island experienced some shortages this week, and the company is working to resolve the situation.
In the wind storms this week, the terminal that distributes gas to the island lost power, and therefore was not distributing.
“The windstorm did cause some transportation and logistical issues in the area,” the statement said. “[P]ower has been restored to the community and our Bare Point terminal is operational.
In a statement, Shell Canada said the terminal has had their power restored, and will be working to restock the stations.
“Some Shell stations in the area are experiencing temporary shortages,” the statement said. “We are working hard to restock stations that have run low as quickly as possible.”
There is not yet an estimated time of when the stations will be operating at full capacity.
