The City of Victoria is allowing mobile street vendors this summer and fall.
The city says anyone interested in operating a mobile bicycle vending business in Victoria can apply for a business licence as part of a seasonal pilot program.
Vendors will be permitted to sell ready-to-eat food including frozen treats, cold and hot beverages, baked goods and flowers.
There are some rules: Bicycle vendors will be able to operate on all city streets and almost all city parks for up to 30 minutes at a time hailed by a customer first.
The mobile bicycle vending pilot project is part of a larger review of street vending in Victoria, taking place over the next 18 months.
