If you plan to travel by air in or out of Victoria International Airport you will now have your temperature taken as a screening method for COVID-19.
Temperature screening stations have been in place since July 30th at the four largest airports in Canada: Montréal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver.
Since September 23rd, temperature screening is being conducted additional Canadian airports including Victoria. Others include Kelowna, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Edmonton.
In addition, all employees and personnel that enter or work in the restricted area of these airports are subject to temperature screening by Canadian Air Transport Security Authority personnel.
All passengers who have an elevated temperature and do not have a medical certificate to explain why, are not permitted to board a plane, and are asked to re-book after 14 days.
