A number of thefts from this weekend's Pet-A-Palooza include a specialized safety harness for a volunteer Search & Rescue Dog.
The harness, belonging to rescue dog Moxxii, is a key piece of safety equipment for the canine. Meantime, a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, as well as Cerberus K9 Solutions, has provided a replacement harness for Moxxii. But VicPd still want to find the special harness that was taken.
The harness has irreplaceable patches sewn on it; gifts to Moxxii and her handler from military members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The harness is olive green with handles, USAR patches and insignia on it.
In addition to Moxxii's harness, several other vendors reported items being stolen. Among them, colourful embroidered dog collars, a blue suitcase, metal tote bins and more.
If you have any information about the thefts call VicPd's non-emergency line (250-995-7654). Or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477).
