After an international appeal for information, Victoria police have received new information they hope will help solve a 32 year old cold case involving a missing British man.
Dennis Crook was reported missing in October 1985. After failing to show up for work over several days police went to check on him. They found his pets had not been fed and his car was still there. He had simply vanished.
Investigators have now been provided with a photo of what Crook looked like at the time of his disappearance, and have found a relative in England willing to supply DNA.
They have also learned he had a sailboat at Oak Bay Marina for several years -- a white and blue 18 foot 1974 Davidson Crown named "Beverly Ann".
Crook was 35 when he disappeared, but would be 68 now. He is described as a Caucasian, 5'9" tall, with a medium to large build. He had medium length, dark brown hair and a thick moustache, and brown eyes.
Investigators would like to speak to Crook's friends in Victoria, including those who initially reported his disappearance, or those who knew him.
