The number of tire slashings that happened in Esquimalt last week has now grown to 70. Someone flattened tires on vehicles all along Craigflower Rd, and along side streets
sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning.
VicPd spokesman Bowen Osoko says the department is still getting reports from residents who have only recently realized what happened.
Osoko says investigators have identified a "person of interest" but are appealing for more witnesses, and surveillance video.
Osoko says some residents had multiple tires slashed on their vehicles. He estimates the cost of the senseless crime to be as high as $40,000 once all the bills are tallied.
