For the past four weeks, Victoria Police officers have been manning dedicated checkpoints throughout Victoria and Esquimalt screening drivers for impairment.
Unfortunately, police haven't come away from the annual Counter Attack program empty-handed.
From December 1st to the 24th, VicPD removed 42 drivers who were impaired by drugs and/or alcohol from the road.
According to ICBC, impairment remains one of the top contributing factors for fatal car crashes.
On average, 65 BC residents die every year in crashes involving impaired driving.
