Victoria Police are investing an alleged case of attempted child luring.
Police say an unknown man aggressively tried to convince a boy to get into his truck near the intersection of Fernwood and Pandora Ave, offering him a ride home at around 3:40p.m. on Monday.
The boy ran off and reported the incident to an adult and police were notified.
The man is described as a white male in between the ages of 30-and 50, heavy set with short blonde or grey hair. He had a stubble goatee, a dark tattoo on his left arm and was wearing a white t-shirt.
His truck is being described as dirty dark blue older style Ford F-150 with a canopy and may have had some front end damage lick a possible crack on a plastic bumper.
The truck was last seen travelling westbound on Pandora Avenue.
Constable Matthew Rutherford acknowledged other cases of possible attempted child luring.
“It’s too early to say if it is connected to any other cases in the CRD but as a reminder to parents and caregivers, it’s always important to continue to talk to their children about never accepting a ride from a stranger.”
There were two cases of possible attempted child luring in Saanich in the past four months.
Police are asking anyone with information to step forward as they would like to follow up with the unknown man.
