A watchdog group that keeps tabs on Victoria's Johnson Street Bridge replacement project thinks we're about to hear about more delays.
"Half of the bridge was supposed to be shipped from China on May 29 and we haven't heard anything from the city about that. So I think it's fairly safe to assume the bridge has not shipped," says Ross Crockford with the group JohnsonStreetBridge.org. "What we don't know is why and if there are other problems with it."
A project schedule update is due at City Hall on Thursday along with other bridge related reports. However, unlike other reports, the schedule update hasn't been made public ahead of time.
The current project schedule calls for the new bridge to open to traffic at the end of this year.
