The city is encouraging the public to use alternate routes as construction on a two-way protected bike lane on Pandora Avenue will cause closures at the intersections with Douglas Street and with Blanshard Street.
Some lane closures are in effect at Pandora and Douglas today and tomorrow as trenches are dug to allow the underground utilities required to support traffic signals and street lighting for the new bike lane.
Construction will continue at Pandora and Douglas next week. The week after that, beginning on January 16, the work will shift to Pandora and Blanshard, where similar delays and closures are anticipated for approximately one week.
The City of Victoria warns heavy noise and sidewalk closures should be expected, as well, but adds there will be room reserved for pedestrian and wheelchair access.
